NewZealand Roadtrip

The idea of taking a trip by yourself can sometimes be daunting. For me personally, I think about all the things that can go wrong, what if i fall asleep on the bus and miss my stop, what if i get food poisoning on a hike, what if i get lost, what if i get KIDNAPPED. If you’re reading this and thinking, “he’s a bit of a pessimist”, you wouldn’t be wrong, and although some of you may have the same reservations, a lot of you aren’t worried about the same things i’m worried about, and that’s perfectly fine, you’re just a lot braver than me.

Despite all of your bravery, when it comes to sticking to a budget, we as solo adventurers probably share similar challenges. Renting a car is expensive, filling up gas is expensive, if you aren’t living out of your car then finding those accommodations can be pricey as well. As a lot of you already know, finding a travel buddy can be a perfect way to circumvent some of these costs. However, finding travel buddies or adventure buddies who are going to the same destinations on the same timeline is always difficult.

That brings me to Scarlett from the UK, while planning her multi-day road trip in Australia, she realized that she needed to find travel buddies to share costs with and that’s when Scarlett accidentally stumbled onto GAFFL. With GAFFL’s precision, she was able to find Amaia, another solo adventurer who’s travel plans were similar. Together they were able to save $400 (each saving $200)!

Here’s what they both had to say about their experience using GAFFL.

“I accidentally scrolled across GAFFL and I’m so pleased I did. I met Amaia and immediately decided to road-trip together. We spent 10 days together and it was great because we have so much in common. Couldn’t have done it without GAFFL helping us find one another! I saved $200. It has honestly made NZ so much cheaper to explore as I get to split the costs with someone too” — Scarlett

“Scarlett and I were traveling alone before we met each other, but I posted my trip on GAFFL and not only turned out that we were thinking the same trip during the same days, but also we were on the same plane to Christchurch! What a small world. We met in Melbourne and got to know each other a bit in the airport. Two days after we rented a car, and we have headed south since then! We have even met other two more people who joined us! Scarlett is a very interesting and travel-experienced person that I would never had met if it wasn’t for GAFFL!” — Amaia

If GAFFL worked for Scarlett and Amaia, it can work for you too. Try it out!
