The “HARD” in life is normal.

Just observe the woodpecker — tirelessly pecking away day after day, building its home one tap at a time. The wood is hard, but it continues anyway.

In Jamaica, having a birth certificate is like the holy grail.

Knowing that I was not registered at birth, never immunized, and had no funds, I set out on my journey to the Northern Caribbean University.

With just eighteen Jamaican dollars ($18.00) in hand, what should’ve been a two-hour drive took three days.

At registration, I promised I would have all my missing documents by the end of the month. Six months later, I was only able to gather the necessary paperwork to apply for my birth certificate.

The “HARD” in life is normal.

Too often, you fixate on the daunting climb ahead, forgetting that to appreciate the breathtaking view at the mountaintop would not be possible without the first step. You blame external factors for your struggles when true empowerment comes from finding solutions.

Stop saying it is hard and the system is set up for you to struggle. Instead, wiggle your way around the system.

Adapt and overcome. Seek out opportunities for growth.

The “HARD” in life is normal — it’s how you respond that defines your journey.
