7 Top Performing Projects in Q1 2020

True to form, Bitcoin fell 11.49% in Q1, as has been the case for 4 out of the past 6 years. This negative performance impacted a lot of other cryptocurrencies. However, even in these trying times, some altcoins soared. In this article, we looked at the top projects that stayed resilient and managed to do a 2X and above in Q1 2020.

1) Presearch 5.6X — rank 810 to 480

The Presearch project aims to build a next-generation search engine that is powered by its community. $PRE recorded a growth of 5.60X this quarter. For the period under review, Presearch launched its Keyword Staking ad platform, and was listed on Kucoin exchange. Presearch also announced support for two new wallets: Arkane Network and SugiCard.

2) Unibright 5.29X — rank 522 to 218

Unibright offers a unified framework that aims to bring blockchain technology and smart contracts to mainstream usage. $UBT recorded a growth of 5.29X this quarter. Highlights of the quarter include Unibright forming the EEA Taskforce ‘EMINENT’ (Ethereum Mainnet Integration for Enterprises) together with Chainlink and Anyblock Analytics. Unibright also announced that they together with ConsenSys, Microsoft, EY and others, were founding members of Baseline Protocol, an open-source initiative that combines advances in cryptography, messaging, and blockchain to deliver secure and private business processes at low cost via the public Ethereum Mainnet. Additionally, it was listed on Kyber Network and Bancor exchange and was also made available to IDEX’s US-based audience.

3) Streamr DATAcoin 3.38X — rank 277 to 141

Streamr DATAcoin is an off-chain network focused on data monetization and exchange. $DATA recorded a growth of 3.38X this quarter. For the period under review, the Streamr project joined MyData Global, in their efforts to move EU data regulation in the right direction.

4) Hedera Hashgraph 3.20X — rank 174 to 45

Hedera Hashgraph is a decentralized public network where anyone can carve out a piece of cyberspace to transact, play, and socialize in a secure, trusted environment. $HBAR recorded a growth of 3.20X. Google and Wipro Limited joined the Hedera Hashgraph governing council this quarter. Atomic Wallet was announced as the first desktop wallet for HBAR holders, and $HBAR was also integrated on both the Ledger Nano S and Nano X wallets.

5) TAP 3.12X — rank 169 to 79

TAP is an all-in-one crypto app that aims to make crypto instantly accessible to the new user and infinitely more convenient for the current crypto adopter. $XTP recorded a growth of 3.12X. The highlight of the quarter was the Tap App going fully live in February.

6) Numerai 2.55X — rank 220 to 111

Numerai is a hedge fund built by data scientists. Its trades are governed by artificial intelligence created by an open community of data scientists. $NMR recorded a growth of 2.55X. This quarter, Numerai opened up its Erasure Protocol to the world. Erasure is a smart contract on Ethereum for people to share information and to express confidence about that information by putting money behind it.

7) Kyber Network 2.39X — rank 133 to 67

Kyber Network is an on-chain liquidity protocol that allows users to swap tokens in any decentralized application. $KNC recorded a growth of 2.39X this quarter. Highlights for this quarter include Kyber Network listing on Coinbase and Coinbase Pro. Delta Exchange also became the first exchange to offer KNC Quarterly Futures Contracts with the option to leverage.
