AAG Ventures — Telegram AMA — November 30
On Tuesday, November 30, we had the pleasure to welcome to our Telegram chat:
Jack Vinijtrongjit, CEO
We asked him questions about the development of AAG Ventures.
Some sentences have been slightly edited for readability but the meaning has been conserved.
AAG has a mission to create economic freedom worldwide through the metaverse and a goal to bring 100M people onto the metaverse by 2030. Initially, their mission was to create economic freedom to help those in need worldwide who were suffering from unemployment due to COVID-19. So far (as of Dec 2021), they have expanded into seven countries (Philippines, Indonesia, Brazil, India, Russia, Nigeria, and Argentina) and are exploring many more markets.
They have witnessed unprecedented, life-changing positive impact on the lives of their scholars (people who earn money while playing games), their families, and the community. They generate significant income, which can be used for food, rent, medication, and other living essentials. Most importantly, AAG Ventures empowers its scholars to change their lives and inspires them to “Pay It Forward” to impact the lives of others.
They aim to create maximal participation in the metaverse, enhance the Play-To-Earn ecosystem at large, spearhead the Learn-To-Earn industry and make the metaverse a force of good in the world.
Although they started off as a guild, their go-forward vision is to become the largest and most impactful Play-To-Earn platform. The Play-To-Earn Platform is a one-stop-shop for players, guilds, and investors. It provides robust solutions to the pain points associated with crypto gaming and the Play-To-Earn industry.
Q — Ayeley from GAINS: Please introduce yourself. What did you do before crypto and did you have any other previous venture in crypto?
A — Jack from AAG: I started my career in enterprise software with a heavy focus on building a framework/platform as well as integrating systems for large companies. Since then I was a part of 4 startups and build a few platforms for retail, content management, application network, etc. My involvements in crypto have been largely as an investor and advisor to projects. In fact, I have been a part of this very community almost since the beginning. AAG Ventures is my first venture in the blockchain space and I have to say it’s very different from a traditional startup.
Q — Ayeley from GAINS: How was it making the transition from the traditional startup to AAG Ventures?
A — Jack from AAG: I’m used to a very fast-paced environment where we build really fast and iterate so for me, it’s not much of a difference. However, we brought in a few key players who are not as familiar and that has been interesting in helping them transition in. People in the crypto space also has certain kind of expectations so we definitely had to adapt to it quickly and kinda change the way we communicate as well.
About AAG Ventures
Q — Ayeley from GAINS: Alright then. Let’s explore AAG Ventures now. What is the AAG Ventures project about in a few simple sentences?
A — Jack from AAG: AAG started a guild where we sponsored people to play video games and earn money. We then realized that this space is very early and need a lot of help so we decided to pivot and create a platform for guilds to use as well so that they have a greater chance to survive. If you have ever run a guild, you would understand how painful it is to run one especially when you have a guild of 2,000+ scholars like ours.
Our goal is to help guilds of any size to be able to grow and thrive by becoming more efficient with their operations.
Q — Ayeley from GAINS: Are there any requirements for any existing guild to meet to be a part of AAG?
A — Jack from AAG: We are open to all. Since we want to make sure to build out our brand and trust, we want to make sure to filter out some bad actors. Otherwise, there aren’t any strict requirements.
Q — Twitter user @Antonio50221026: You are a guild called Achip & Achair Guild (AAG) with a strong focus on Axie Infinity and blockchain games but I would like to know what plans they have to grow quickly and increase their number of users? Is AAG like other guilds that outsource local managers?
A — Jack from AAG: We actually keep everything in-house and that’s why we are able to run much more efficiently. Over the first few weeks of operations, we have developed our secret sauce to being able to expand quickly and cheaply.
This will also be baked in as part of our offering on the platform. We are also planning to expand to cover many more games. You may have seen the partnership announcement with Vulcan Forged a couple of days ago. Our philosophy is to be very picky with who we want to partner with rather than spraying and praying. It’s just not efficient that way.
Our next partnership announcement will be later this week so stay tuned.
Q — Twitter user @Augustk95: I understand that AAG Ventures is climbing, stopping from being just a guild to being a Platform, so could you tell us what will be the benefits that they will offer when they become a platform? Will they be the same as today being a guild, only that they will have a greater scope?
A — Jack from AAG: Blockchain space is a weird space where everyone just wants to partner with everyone and integrate with everyone. That’s the most efficient way to build out your tech. Imagine 100 games and 100 guilds, that’s basically 10k integration points. As this space evolves, most guilds will fall behind. By using our platform, they will always be current and able to offer the best experiences for their own guild.
We also intend to make sure the management of cryptocurrency doesn’t become a barrier to entry. For example, our oldest scholar is a 75-year-old grandma from the Philippines who never had a mobile phone let alone playing a video game. We want to make sure that people from every demographic will have access and are also able to thrive. That’s how we are planning to help guilds build out their operation.
Q — Ayeley from GAINS: Will there be a token and what role will it play in the AAG Ventures ecosystem?
A — Jack from AAG:Yes, we will have our own AAG token. We are planning a broad set of utilities to the AAG token in order to generate sustained demand. These are
1) As payment for platform/cloud services
2) As a universal currency across all PTE games
3) To allow fractional ownership of NFTs
4) As a fuel for smart contracts
5) For voting in the DAO
We do have quite a few more utilities planned for the token and we will reveal them as we have finalized them.
Q — Twitter user Tahsin Ahmet 💥: The biggest concern of investors is security in projects. How secure is AAG Ventures and have you done any audits?
A — Jack from AAG: Security is a primary focus of our platform. You may have seen that we have already partnered with Lossless and Hacken. We have a few more to reveal in the near future. Project Titan will also provide a high level of security for our platform. For this very reason, we first started building out the core infrastructure so we can eliminate this kind of problem as much as possible.
Q — Ayeley from GAINS: Did you raise funds so far? If so, how did you handle them? Are you planning to do any future raises?
A — Jack from AAG: Yes, we have raised funds so far to accelerate our development of the platform. We also plan to use it to acquire NFT assets and continue to expand the guild side of AAGV. Since we currently have an embargo with the media, I can’t exactly reveal the details, but expect some exciting details in the coming days.
Q — Ayeley from GAINS: Can you share your roadmap with us? What exciting updates should we expect in the next weeks and months?
A — Jack from AAG: We have multiple tracks for the roadmap, but the primary focus is on the platform.
1) We are planning to go live in Dec 2021 and dogfooding it ourselves with AAG Guild. Essentially, our scholars will be our first 2,000+ users
2) H1 2022, we will open the platform up for our beta partners, which we will continue to signup
3) H2 2022, we are planning to open the platform up for self-service In the meantime, we will continue to improve our infrastructure layer (Project Titan) to make sure that we can scale to support millions of DAU.
Q — Telegram user Regina /•/ EXService: Which one of these aspects is important for you? 1-Increasing Token Price & Value 2-Empowering Platform Development 3-Building Community Trust 4-Expanding Partnership Globally In what order?
A — Jack from AAG: I would say all 4 actually. One thing I have not mentioned is that we will also allow developers to build and monetize on top of our platform by utilizing our microservices. This means that even though we might have 10 developers, we could potentially have a much bigger extension to our team. It’s what we called a network effect and we are looking forward to having more and more developers join us in the effort to continue to enrich the ecosystem.
Q — Telegram user ABARE ABARE: What is the ultimate vision that your project is trying to achieve within the cryptocurrencies market? Obviously, the whole space will experience huge growth in the upcoming years, but what role would you like your project to play in this?
A — Jack from AAG: We want to help accelerate the adoption of metaverses and we see guilds playing a very important role at the beginning. Gaming will most likely be the first entry into the metaverse for most people.
Q — Telegram user Loly Petrro: Binance smart Chain blockchain is having high transaction speed and cheap gas fees, Do you have a plan in mind to launch your mainnet or switch to other blockchains in the future?
A — Jack from AAG: BSC is too slow and too costly. We need something much faster and cheaper. We will reveal more details on this in the near future.
Yes, this is to do with payment which equals trust in PTE. We actually ran an experiment by doing payment to scholars manually and it took us 2–3 days to pay 1,500 people for Axie Infinity. That’s just too inefficient. SPM will help automate and solve this problem.
Jack, thanks for coming into our community, and taking the time to answer our questions. Do you have any final words for us? Where can we follow you to stay updated? — Ayeley Commodore-Mensah from GAINS Associates 🐋
