IndiGG — Telegram AMA — March 04
On Friday, March 04, we had the pleasure to welcome to our Telegram chat:
We asked them questions about the development of IndiGG.
Some sentences have been slightly edited for readability but the meaning has been conserved.
Introduction
Q — Ayeley from GAINS: Please introduce yourself. What did you do before crypto and did you have any other previous venture in crypto?
A — Aaron from IndiGG: Hey guys, I am Amartya Biswas, you call me Aman. I’ve worked in the Indian gaming industry since 2013, started in the industry as a blog writer, and eventually went on to work with companies such as Nvidia and GamerConnect over this period of time. I am currently leading Content and helping with business development at IndiGG.
I got interested in blockchain games when I discovered them because most of it made a lot of sense to me as a gamer who has played the likes of CSGO and Team Fortress 2 for countless hours.
A — Aaron from IndiGG: I am Aaron Barboza I have been in the crypto space since 2019 and investing in so many projects since then. My first coin was Ethereum because of lovely tech and I believe the smart contract is a whole different level back then. I also start contributing to projects helping them in Marketing & building communities,
I also started playing blockchain games in 2020–2021 and in love with the mechanism. Right now, I’m working as marketing & Social media manager at IndiGG, handling mostly the Social Contents & Influencer Marketing
About IndiGG
Q — Ayeley from GAINS: What is the IndiGG project about in a few simple sentences?
A — Aaron from IndiGG: IndiGG is a gaming guild and subDAO of YGG. We’re working to onboard Indian gamers into the world of web3 gaming through guild scholarships. Our mission is to educate Indian gamers and show them the financial benefits of web3 games.
Q — Ayeley from GAINS: Is it only Indian gamers that can join the guild?
A — Aman from IndiGG: We do not reject international scholars either. It’s just that our efforts are put mostly to grow our community in India at the moment.
Our aim at the moment is to focus on and grow the Indian crypto gaming market. We believe there are a lot of growth opportunities here because we’re a developing country and crypto games can offer a supplementary revenue stream to our scholars/community.
We do not reject international scholars either. It’s just that our efforts are put mostly to grow our community in India at the moment.
Q — Twitter User @theshadowjk_1: I read that IndiGG has raised $6 million to push Play2Earn games in India. This is fantastic, but besides India, do you have a similar approach for other countries in the Asian market or other continents? What impact has this significant fundraising had on IndiGG’s expansion?
A — Aman from IndiGG: Our core focus right now is to grow the Indian crypto gaming community but we take on international scholars as well if they approach us.
We might expand to neighboring countries of India, but that would happen much later on and not immediately.
The funding that we’ve raised from our investors not only helps us scale our operations really fast and effectively but the expertise our investors bring to the table also helps us bring value to our community.
For example — given that our investors are tied up with a lot of up-and-coming crypto games, having them gives us easy access to check these crypto games out, evaluate them whether they’re fit for our community, and establish partnerships in a rapid manner.
And that’s just one way our investors bring value to IndiGG :)
Q — Ayeley from GAINS: What do I need to join the guild?
A — Aman from IndiGG: If you want to become a scholar at IndiGG, you can do so by first joining our Discord and messaging any mod. We have an entire process that can be explained by our community mods.
You can also approach us via our other social channels as well in case you get stuck anywhere Twitter | Instagram | Discord | Telegram | Linkedin
Q — Twitter user @Akash97321: Many games today set high costs to start the game & therefore start with a small player base. Does “YGGINDIA” have an entrance fee or starting conditions & if so, what are they? Do I need to hold an NFT or hold a certain amount of tokens in order to enjoy & play the YGGINDIA?
A — Aman from IndiGG: So to clarify, we’re not a game but a guild. Quite a few people who might be new to the crypto ecosystem might have this confusion. A guild in the crypto kingdom provides NFTs of various games, to scholars — so that they may play, engage and earn from those games.
you do not need to hold any NFT, or tokens to become a scholar of IndiGG. It is completely free, however, we do evaluate whoever wants to be a scholar at IndiGG and pick accordingly.
Token
Q — Ayeley from GAINS: What role does the token play in the IndiGG ecosystem?
A — Aaron from IndiGG: Our guild token is $INDI and provides holders with a variety of benefits. Those who hold INDI will be able to partake in governance votes on important guild issues, compete in holder-only gaming tournaments, access exclusive Discord channels, and much more. The token is also a way for us to share value across our community.
Q — Telegram user Hai 👋👋: Can you provide an overview of Tokenomics and Token Utility at IndiGG?
A — Aaron from IndiGG: Holding INDI token will net you a list of benefits which include:
— Governance (ability to vote on important matters)
— Access to “holders only Discord channels”
— Token Holder only gaming tournaments
— Indi tokens will also be used to process renting of high-value virtual NFT assets held by the IndiGG DAO
Q — Telegram user F.: Where can I buy INDI coin?
A — Aaron from IndiGG: The INDI token is currently not available to purchase. Our IEO is happening on FTX on the 8th of March.
You can find all details regarding how to participate in the IEO via this article.
Partnerships
Q — Telegram user Satish 💲: Have you collaborated with any Game development studios till now? How do you be helping them?
A — Aman from IndiGG: Yes. We’ve already partnered with quite a few crypto games. You can read all about our game partners via our substack
Our current partnerships are about providing NFTs of the partnered games to our scholars and helping the games gain a consistent player base via IndiGG scholars in turn.
However, while I can’t go into full details, we definitely are collaborating and working with a lot of indie game studios from India to onboard them to web3 gaming and in turn help fast track the crypto gaming development scene in the country
Funding
Q — Ayeley from GAINS: Did you raise funds for the project so far? If so, how will you handle them? And are you planning to do any future raises?
A — Aaron from IndiGG: So far during our pre-seed round we managed to raise $6M. This round included major names like Animoca brands, Lightspeed Capital, and several high-profile angel investors. We’ll be using these funds towards the expansion of our guild and plan to utilize any future capital raises for guild initiatives that include offering more scholarships, onboarding more scholars, promotion, etc.
You can read more about our investors in our substack
Competitive Advantage
Q — Ayeley from GAINS: What makes IndiGG better than the gaming guilds that serve the crypto market these days?
A — Aman from IndiGG: Our aim at the moment is to focus on and grow the Indian crypto gaming market. We believe there are a lot of growth opportunities here because we’re a developing country and crypto games can offer a supplementary revenue stream to our scholars/community.
Right now, we’re not in a competition with any other guild because while most guilds are targeting internationally for scholar growth, our aim is very much narrowed down to focus growth in India right now. We have a diverse team with expertise in Business growth, gaming, as well as massive crypto experience due to our ties with Polygon. This in turn helps us to connect with potential scholars from across the country at a grassroots level.
Business Development
Q — Ayeley from GAINS: How far along are you with your roadmap and what should we expect in the coming weeks and months?
A — Aaron from IndiGG: We’ve accomplished quite a bit with our roadmap such as onboarding Indian scholars, partnering with some key gaming partners (Nyan Heroes, Sipher, Fancy Birds, etc), expanding our team, and achieving backing from some key investors.
Over the next few months, you can expect to see us host more events (AMAs, tournaments, community events, boot camps), increase our number of scholars, partner with even more amazing crypto games, and focus greatly on strengthening the core of our guild.
Aaron and Aman, thanks for coming into our community, and taking the time to answer our questions. Do you have any final words for us? Where can we follow you to stay updated? — Ayeley Commodore-Mensah from GAINS
