Outer Ring — Telegram AMA — February 25
On Friday, February 25, we had the pleasure to welcome to our Telegram chat:
We asked him questions about the development of Outer Ring.
Some sentences have been slightly edited for readability but the meaning has been conserved.
Q — Ayeley from GAINS: Please tell us about yourself and your crypto journey. What did you do before crypto and did you have any other previous venture in crypto before outer Ring?
A — Ibai from Outer Ring: Well, my name is Ibai, I am a software engineer, a field that I love and in which fortunately I have been working for some years
Specifically, I am dedicated to the development of the blockchain part (Smart Contracts, web3 backend, etc), sometimes I also make some frontend but the truth is that I am very bad with styles😅
Besides crypto projects, I have also worked on other projects such as software for information systems for my local government education system. Also, I was working on another project with VR for helping people with some mental diseases such as schizophrenia.
Another of my passions within the technology field is cybersecurity and whenever I have time (rarely) I take the opportunity to learn new things about this field that can be applied to everything related to blockchain.
To finish with my presentation, I have to say that I also like to practice some sport or have a beer to disconnect, not everything in life is screens and codes. XD
About Outer Ring
Q — Ayeley from GAINS: Tell us about the Outer Ring project in a few simple sentences
A — Ibai from Outer Ring: Outer Ring is an MMORPG game. This means that you can interact with a huge amount of players in a free-to-play open world. This metaverse has sci-fi lore and it allows all users to socialize, play, create and work inside it.
We started to develop the game 3 years ago and decided that it should be tokenized completely. This means that almost every asset in the game is an NFT and that the whole economy of the game is transferable to the real world thanks to the use of its own native tokens.
The game makes a mix of systems inherited from the ‘old school’, appealing to the nostalgia of part of the target audience, and more current and diverse concepts, such as the real economy based on blockchain, which attract an audience more interested in the economic-financial part or more casual, using the in-game economy for the first time, diversifying the target audience as much as possible.
Q — Twitter user @blackrose11221: Outer Ring is a P2E SCIFI MMORPG game. One really important aspect of almost every game, and personally my favorite part, is the possibility to play on Multiplayer mode, so, my question is; will users have the possibility on Outer Ring to play with friends on a multiplayer mode?
A — Ibai from Outer Ring: The answer is very simple 😁 BIG YESSSS!!!!
Q — Telegram user Topind: Will Outer Ring be available on Windows and macOS?
A — Ibai from Outer Ring: Short answer but important: the game will only run on Windows
Q — Telegram user Ismail: What will be the benefit of being a part of a clan?
A — Ibai from Outer Ring: Unity is strength!! You can’t conquer the universe alone
Q — Twitter user @capricouzz: I have been reading about your project but I didn’t find much information about governance or the role that the community plays in project decisions. So, How important is the community vote for decision-making in your project & what mechanisms have you established?
A — Ibai from Outer Ring: Galactic Quadrants $GQ will be the governance token inside the Outer Ring political system. Players will be able to vote on decisions inside the game or in certain spaces. For example, deciding if a place is a War Zone or not.
In addition to this, there will be a governance area for the community, so that users will be able to launch proposals to be voted by all the others to be carried out or not…
And also within the same game people will be able to run for political positions,… so it will be quite interesting!
Q — Telegram user Anitax: On their website, they invite users to freely discover various scenarios of the game with virtual reality glasses. So, does this mean that your game would be exclusive in virtual reality, or would it also be available for mobile devices and computers?
A — Ibai from Outer Ring: The game is not going to be a VR game, it will have mini-games and VR sections, but it will be mainly a computer game.
Q — Ayeley from GAINS: What role will the token play in the Outer Ring ecosystem?
A — Ibai from Outer Ring: Outer Ring has 2 native tokens. Exocredits(EXO) will mainly be used as in-game currency while GQs will be the currency of governance. Whoever will have more GQs will have more power to create in-game policies and much more.
Q — Telegram user Hababi •| Airdrop Hunter: Security is the first priority of all projects and platforms. Do you believe that Outer Ring is safe and secure enough against hackers? Does Outer Ring have Bug Bounty Programs for everyone that reward individual vulnerability detection of the system?
A — Ibai from Outer Ring: Bug bounties have not been considered for the moment, but we are auditing as much as possible to ensure our users have a correct operation.
Q — Ayeley from GAINS: Did you raise funds so far? If so, how did you handle them? Are you planning to do any future raises?
A — Ibai from Outer Ring: The game has operated for 3 years with our own funding. Previous to the IDO, we raised 6M $ in private investment that has served as a huge boost for the game making the team grow.
Subsequently, we had the second round of investment which was a private sale of Token in which we raised 5 million euros more.
Now we are hoping to have a successful token launch and following we will release the Lootboxes and obviously the sale of game NFTs.About the future, is uncertain, we are in a fastly growing ecosystem so I´m not sure if I can give you a clear statement.
Q — Ayeley from GAINS: Can you share details of the launchpads you will be on?
A — Ibai from Outer Ring: Of course, you can see them all on our website. We are listed on 11 launchpads. Just click on their logo and you’ll go to their website so you could check the requirements
Q — Ayeley from GAINS: What sets it apart from other crypto projects in the MMORPG space?
A — Ibai from Outer Ring: Well, first of all, we have been developing the game for the last 3 years, which already shows a lot of work dedicated to the project.
Going deeper into the question, Outer Ring is designed in such a way that all players in the world can participate in it. It has no barriers to entry, you can start playing and win without investing.
It is developed in such a way that it can be run by almost all computers. And also, the MMO has extensive lore that makes it highly scalable over time. We can constantly update our universe to offer different experiences to players.
Q — Ayeley from GAINS: How far along are you with your roadmap and what should we expect in the next weeks and months?
A — Ibai from Outer Ring: You can check the roadmap on our webpage.
In this order: IDO, TGE, CEX, own DEX, Marketplace, Lootbox, Beta, Launch, Planetary Expansion, and then maybe Moon 🚀🌚 XD
Thanks, Ibai, for coming into our community, and taking the time to answer our questions. Do you have any final words for us? Where can we follow you to stay updated? — Ayeley Commodore-Mensah from GAINS Associates 🐋
