Cursed Pirates — Update 11/10/2022
A quick round-up of information for ye scurvy dogs around the development of Cursed Pirates & Cursed DAO.

NFT Collection
The base 5500 collections of Cursed Pirates are finalised and ready to be summoned by our whitelisted deckhand and the general public later this year. We are in the process of including some unique one-of-ones within the base collection regarding rare outfit combinations, notable characters within the lore and simply must-have additions like a skeleton tortoise.
Once these have been added, the only remaining item on the collection side is to conduct a test mint of the collection before moving to production.
Lore & World Building
Cursed Pirates is set within a great expanse called the Bay of Plenty. The team has spent months creating a cohesive, lore-rich world that will eventually make its way to being immortalised on-chain. We hope Cursed DAO and the NFT community help build the world further.
When you summon your Cursed Pirate later this year, they will be uniquely tied to a faction & location in the world, on-chain, giving you a base identity from the start that can be built upon (story-based NFT). Additionally, a detailed wiki is being worked on to allow you to discover each of the factions and locations in more detail so you can immerse yourself within the Bay of Plenty and stay up to date with territorial updates.

It’s also important to note that whilst we are creating the initial vision for Cursed Pirates and are here to support Cursed DAO and its future development long term, the world and lore are a shared endeavour and can’t wait for future community members to share their ideas of how it should evolve beyond launch — we want to create a tight-knit link between NFTs and the lore, to bring the latter on-chain too.
Music
The summoning event will be a story of new beginnings and adventure. Three short, ambient soundtracks were produced with live instruments & sound to match the acoustic & historical age of sail.
These tracks have been minted on-chain as unique, limited-supply music NFTs will be used within different event stages.

Earn a Soundtrack NFT, Whitelist & DBL
Captain Gibbons has relayed a new work order over on Discord from the Devari Concord where you can earn a unique NFT, whitelist to the primary collection, unique Discord & community role & $DBL.
The Task
a) Create a cover/interpretation of one of the Cursed Pirates summoning tracks using any instrument. The submission can be in any style and any length and does not need to be note-for-note but instead just based on the original.
b) Create a piece of art inspired by one or all of the Cursed Pirates summoning tracks. The art can be any style, any size, and of any skill level — all entries are welcome.

Cursed DAO
The formation of Cursed DAO from its organisational structure, governance processes, and onboarding experience are all being conceptualised for proposal upon launch. It’s important to note here that whilst we will be developing a backbone, it will be the future members of Cursed DAO (voters via Cursed Pirates NFTs) that will guide the evolution of the organisation, its resource allocation and ultimate direction.

The good news is that we only care about the quality of our delivery. What is the rush in the current ecosystem sentiment? We’re not here to think of the next three months of Cursed Pirates & DAO, but rather our vision spans the next three years.
With that said, we are still aiming for a Q4 Launch in late November for the summoning event and are all hands on deck every day up to that point to deliver as much as possible within that time.
Post-Launch
Everything we work on today is in the scope of the Cursed Pirates summoning event & Cursed DAO launch. But I would be lying if I said we haven’t already been thinking about sub-collections, on-chain lore, interactive maps, faction staking mechanisms, on-chain questing, crew building & ship NFTs. We’ll save addressing these for the future as we focus on what is exciting today.
