  • What are things players did that defied expectations?
  • Search for signs of Frustration or confusion from playtesters
  • Do they seem engaged?
  • What are the very first actions they take or try in the game?
  • Do they progress through the game at the expected pace?
  • Does this pace seem too fast or slow?
  • Be mindful of the background of the playtester
  • Friends will be less critical of your work (which is not good)
  • How does the gaming experience vary from playtester to playtester?
  • What are environmental factors of testing that should be considered?
  • Ideally, player goes through game without needing any input from the developers. Be patient.
