This game uses cozy and detailed rooms in the games setting. This draws on past experience in the player of a lived in house that is full of mystery.

Enacting Stories: Trails in the Sky

Like most RPGs, Trails in the sky features a fixed over arching plot that is scattered throughout the explorable world. However, there is player flexibility in how you interact with the game, and how some of the narrative points play out.

Embedded Narratives: Return of the Obra Dinn

This game is about deducing the cause and identity and casue of death for 60 crew members on the Obra Dinn. You have a magical watch that shows you vignettes of theirs death, and you must cross reference each vignettes to finish the game.

Emergent Narratives: Subnautica

This survival game is about searching for resources, building a base, and eventually finding a way to get off the planet you crash landed on. Most of the base building and monster encounters are random or player dependent, and generates a unique story.
