Dota Underlords is a f2p auto-chess inspired strategy battler set in the world of Dota, developed and published by Valve. Players collect and upgrade heroes in an attempt to form unique alliances to unlock powerful bonuses that can crush their opponents.

At it’s mechanical core Dota Underlords is a deck-building game — where construction of a deck, a crew of heroes, is the main focus of gameplay. Unlike collectable card games where the deck is built before a battle, in deck-building games strategic decisions of collecting, upgrading and changing the makeup of the deck happens during a battle.

Dota Underlords is a round based, 8 player strategy battler. Each round is broken into two phases: preparation and battle. Rounds begin with the preparation phase where players receive gold and XP based on the win or loss of the previous round’s battle phase. Gold can be spent to hire new heroes to place them on the board or to rank up existing ones.
