Far Cry 6 x Stranger Things
At the time of this piece’s release, we are days away from the second half of season four of Stranger Things. In a moment of unplanned synergy, I happened to be wrapping up my Platinum play through of Far Cry 6 around the same time. It’s a Far Cry game (for better and worse) but something weird is afoot. You see, Far Cry 6 has a crossover event with Stranger Things!
The PS5 home screen has been advertising this event from the moment I installed it. Because I’m riding high on the show’s excellent new season, I figured it was time to dive into this mission. What does this kind of crossover look like? And is it any good?
The Event
It starts with a Special Yaran Story called ‘The Vanishing’. The waypoint pointed me toward the western coast of Aguas Lindas. I fast traveled to a nearby Checkpoint. Some of my fellow Guerillas are in a fight with the army so I threw a few bullets that way. Afterward, I summoned a vehicle and followed the blue line north. A dirt path and a rain storm awaited me.
At the end of the path was a deserted village. Dead bodies floated around a flooded hut. Inside…
