Introducing Game Makers Iceland

Hi friends! At our last meet-up, we made an exciting announcement.

After an amazing 2017 (during which we hosted 18 game development events, workshops and game jams!), we are now giving the community team its own brand: Game Makers Iceland! 🎉

Our mission in 2018 is to level up our work in growing and empowering the grassroots games scene in Iceland. We believe that having our own brand and identity is an important next step in this mission. We are passionate about growing an inclusive and diverse games scene in Iceland.

We will still work closely with IGI on industry facing matters and initiatives, and it is with their close collaboration that we are now founding this new initiative for the grassroots community. You will not see any changes to the IGI Facebook page or group, but you will see changes to our Slack channel and you will be invited to join and follow us on other platforms as well!

We are super excited for Game Makers Iceland and even more excited to involve you all in the creation of this new brand. We’d love to hear your thoughts about what our new logo should look like. If you have any ideas for us, please send them our way at hello@gamemakers.is before the end of the month.
