The Los Angeles Clippers have just found a new home as owner Steve Ballmer has purchased the Los Angeles Forum for $400M in cash.

The Los Angeles Forum in Inglewood, California

In a news release by Ballmer he stated “we are committed to our investment in the City of Inglewood, which will be good for the community, the clippers, and our fans.”

Since day one Ballmer has always been about making a name for Clippers and stepping out of the shadow of the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Forum has stated that they will still be a music venue. Similar to how the Staple Center is run now.

The forum is no stranger when it comes to the NBA and Los Angeles Basketball as it served home to the Los Angeles Lakers from 1967–1999. While also serving home to other Los Angeles teams such as the Los Angeles Kings of the NHL, Los Angeles Sparks WNBA, and most recently the Los Angeles Stars of the ABA from 2000–2001 to name a few.

The Forum was also home to the 1984 Olympic Basketball tournament and hosted the Big West Conference from 1983–1988 and the 1989 Pacific 10-Conference men’s basketball tournaments.
