Beyond Sports Program Alumni: Where are They Now?
Find out what previous participants in USC’s unique internship program are up to today
The University of South Carolina’s Beyond Sports Program facilitates professional development programming through paid internships in order to prepare student-athletes for life after college. Beyond Sports pairs Gamecock student-athletes with companies in the Columbia area that are committed to the Gamecocks and willing to work with the demanding schedule that student-athletes have. Last year was the first year of the Beyond Sports program, so what are the alumni doing today?
Ryan Bermudez
Ryan Bermudez is on South Carolina’s Men’s Track and Field team and worked with Chernoff Newman in the summer of 2017. Today, Bermudez is a Project Manager for EngenuitySC, working with schools, local government and private businesses to make Columbia a better place to work, live and play.
Kaylea Snaer
During the summer of 2017, Kaylea Snaer, a member of the Gamecocks softball team worked with the City of Columbia Parks and Recreation department. Now, Snaer works as a softball coach at a facility for Jen Schro catching as well as traveling with ThePackageDeal to put on softball clinics. Snaer is also working on becoming a registered yoga instructor and wants to connect athletes with yoga.
Amy Suttmeier
Amy Suttmeier is a Women’s Track and Field athlete who worked with the USC Athletic Department’s Marketing team. Currently, Suttmeier is preparing for her May 2018 graduation and getting ready to move to Cincinnati to work on the Western & Southern Open tennis tournament.
Erin Neuenfeldt
Erin Neuenfeldt, a member of the Gamecocks’ Beach Volleyball team, completed her internship with Palmetto Autism Interventions last summer. Now, she is enrolled at Jacksonville University pursuing a degree in speech-language pathology while working as a graduate assistant for both the indoor and beach volleyball teams there.
Jade Vitt
Jade Vitt worked with IMG Gamecock Sports Properties during her time in the Beyond Sports program. Today, Vitt works in Charleston, S.C. as a stylist at the Trunk Club, where she combines top brands, expert services and unparalleled convenience to deliver a highly personalized experience.
