Jonah Bride is a rising senior and a member of South Carolina’s baseball team. Bride is majoring in Sports Management and Entertainment. Throughout Bride’s baseball career thus far he has accomplished many things on and off the field. He was rated the №. 50 best third baseman in the nation by D1 Baseball, was named to the SEC Community Service Team, and named to the SEC Spring Academic Honor Roll.

Bride is currently interning with the Columbia Fireflies who play out of Spirit Communications Park. He is working a lot in the ticket office but has been moving around to other different parts as well to see how everything operates. He has been able to oversee accounting, food and beverage, group sales, corporate sales, and has even been able to get his hands dirty with the grounds crew.

Bride’s goal for his future is to be able to play baseball as long as he is able to. Although he does understand that baseball can’t last forever so this internship is helping him figure out how the sports industry works on the other side of things.

With this internship he has been able to make a great amount of connections and is doing everything he can to make himself as useful as possible. With the minor league All-Star game being held this week, Bride was able to talk and connect with executives from other teams in the league. Bride says that this internship is a great opportunity and he’s glad that he got put with such a great organization with the Fireflies.

Bride has the talent and ability to play baseball after college but also has the brains and desire to learn the industry on both sides. Bride definitely has a bright future ahead of him on and off the field. Go Gamecocks!

Go Gamecocks!
