Nephron Pharmaceuticals Corporation- Sarah Taylor- Sarah Taylor
Sarah Taylor is a rising senior and a member of the Track and Field team. She is double majoring in Global Studies and Pre-Pharmacy major with a Chemistry minor. Taylor just got back from a semester abroad. While she was there she studied global health and Spanish and also spent a lot of time volunteering in a veterinary clinic assisting with surgeries and administered preoperative and postoperative medications. She also had a chance to work with animals and work within the veterinary pharmacy.
This summer Taylor interned with Nephron Pharmaceuticals Corporation. This internship has allowed her to learn about all the different departments of a pharmaceutical company. Taylor has helped in both the office settings and the lab settings which helped her understand all the components that go into a well-functioning company. Taylor has had the opportunity to learn in microbiology and chemistry labs but also validation and drug development departments. In the office, Taylor learned about sales and executive affairs.
Nephron is a woman-owned business that makes generic respiratory drugs including nebulizer inhalation solutions. Taylor has been able to see from start to finish on how these products are made and then available to people and healthcare settings that need them.
Taylor explains how these products are very close to her heart because she had to use a nebulizer all throughout her childhood due to Asthma and other lung problems.
Taylor expresses how working with Nephron has been an amazing experience and something that she is so grateful to have had. She has loved getting to work with such wonderful and intelligent people who are also Gamecock fans!
This internship has helped Taylor prepare her foundation of work within Pharmaceuticals. This is her last year at USC and is graduating in May 2018. This summer she will be applying to Colleges of Pharmacy and a full-time career in Pharmacy is the ultimate goal.
Taylor is very grateful for this university and for Gamecock Athletics for giving her so many resources and opportunities. Taylor has a very bright future ahead of her and is very determined to meet her goal. We wish Taylor luck in her final year at USC and in her career in the future.
