The GameCredits Foundation December 17th 2018 Update

Hello everyone and welcome to yet another report from The GameCredits Foundation.

Before we get started, we wanted to share a friendly reminder that the official GameCredits website is https://gamecredits.org

Funding

We are still exploring possibilities to find a sustainable funding method for the GamecreditsFoundation. Thank you for every suggestion we get from you guys. Right now because of the funding situation development activities have to be kept on a low level.

Trezor and Ledger Support

We announced that we are supported by Ledger and Trezor some weeks ago. Now and then we get asked how to use them. So we decided to give you a small how-to:

GameCredits Trezor Hardware Wallet Guide

Ensure your Trezor One is on firmware 1.7.1 or above, and Trezor Model T on 2.0.8 or above. The Electrum-GAME client is developed by a third party and is an open source project which implements hardware wallet capabilities within the software.

Install Electrum-GAME

• Go to Electrum-GAME.org
• Download Electrum-GAME for your operating system.
• Select your operating system:
• Windows: move the downloaded .exe file to your applications folder.
• Mac: open the downloaded .dmg file and move it to your applications folder.
• Linux: follow these instructions.

Connect the Trezor Device

• Connect and unlock your Trezor device.
• Launch Electrum-GAME from your applications folder. The install wizard opens.
• Leave the default wallet name and click Next.
• Select Standard wallet and click Next.
• At the keystore screen, select Use a hardware device and click Next.
• Select your Trezor device and click next.
• Leave the derivation path as default (m/44'/101'/0') and click Next.
• Your addresses are generated and voilà! Your account balances are shown in the History tab. You can now manage your GAME from your Trezor device using Electrum-GAME.

Receive GAME

Always start by sending a small test amount. Proceed only with larger transactions if the test transaction was successful.

Instructions

• Open the Receive tab.
• Copy and share the Receiving address with the person or service that will transfer to your account. Make sure you double-check the address if you copy and paste it.

Send GAME

Always start by sending a small test amount. Proceed only with larger transactions if the test transaction was successful.

Instructions

• Open the Send tab.
• Enter the recipient address in the Pay to field. Please verify the address when you copy and paste.
• Enter the Amount to send and select the network fees.
• Click Send. Check the amount and fees, then confirm by clicking Yes.
• Verify the amount, receiving address and fees all displayed on your device.
• If everything is correct, confirm the transaction by pressing the appropriate button to sign it.

GameCredits Ledger Hardware Wallet Guide

Install the GameCredits app on your Ledger device to manage GAME with Ledger Live. The GameCredits app is developed and supported by Ledger and works on the Ledger Nano S and Ledger Blue devices. The Electrum-GAME client is developed by a third party and is an open source project which implements hardware wallet capabilities within the software.

Before you start

• Ledger Live is ready to use.
• The latest firmware is installed on your Ledger device.
• The Bitcoin app is installed, since GameCredits requires it.

Install the GameCredits app

• Open the Manager in Ledger Live.
• Connect and unlock your device.
• If asked, allow the manager on your device.
• Find GameCredits in the app catalog.
• Click the Install button of the app.
• An installation window appears.
• Your device will display Processing…
• The app installation is confirmed.

Install Electrum-GAME

• Go to Electrum-GAME.org
• Download Electrum-GAME for your operating system.
• Select your operating system:
• Windows: move the downloaded .exe file to your applications folder.
• Mac: open the downloaded .dmg file and move it to your applications folder.
• Linux: follow these instructions.

• Connect and unlock your Ledger device.
• Open the GameCredits app.

Troubleshooting

• At the “Hardware Keystore” setup screen, I get a “No Hardware Device Detected”

Make sure your Ledger is awake (i.e. not showing the scrolling screensaver) and unlocked with your PIN in order for the device to be recognized.

• I’m getting an “Exception: Invalid Status 6700” error.

Make sure the GameCredits app is already launched on your Ledger device.

• I’m getting an “Exception: Invalid Sequence” error.

Make sure your Ledger is awake and unlocked with your PIN

• Any other error on Windows when creating the hardware keystore

Open Windows Settings, navigate to Devices, find the Ledger device and remove the device. Unplug the device and then plug it back in
