You have surely run into games with other players that look different than you, their sholders are on fire or their character looks like a mordor knight, or a weapon that shoots rainbow bullets. This are skins, customizable that allow the players to look different than others, to had their own style.

Call of Duty Warzone Yandere Skin

The Taste of Shining

Since we were kids we have always like to show off, we bragged to our classmates our toys, our new shoes, even now we continue bragging things on instagram, our trips, our food, our clothes etc. The same applies to videogames, surely you have run into some one in you favorite game that has an skin of unicorn or a cool stuff like that, everyone likes to look great in our fav game, from fortnite to clash of clans, the fact of having skins, a gesture or dances makes us stand out from the rest & thats what makes that this monetization models be so profitable, cause all of us are willing to pay to look great.

Surely in some game you it has given you the spar to say: “It’s so cool that i want it”, regardless of whether you bought it or not.

Clash Royale reactions are sent to the enemy during the battles.

The Objects and their Function as NFTs

When I talk about “objects” I reffer to everything mentioned before, gestures, dances, weapons, all kind of object in game. When it comes to playing we like to bring our best equipment, our best weapon, oue best cards, pokemons, and all of this is better if it looks different than the issual and great. If we kill some one with our favorite weapon is good, but if our weapon shine and shoot rainbows it’s great.

It isthis what makes that all these objects had a great potential as NFTs, cause they are limited, once you got a skin or a reaction it is “yours”, you can’t change it or sell it, but they are not nfts cause they are not unique.

The Warzone anime pack was only available for purchase for a limited time, so only those who bought it have it today.

But think about it, a game designed in a way in wich their objects don’t lose value, on the contrary, they gain more value with the time & that the player who own them can take them out of the game through the blockchain so they can live in their wallets, outside the game.

All these games are centralized, the developers have absolute power over your objects, if the game servers shoot down, you will lose the skin that you bought for 30 USD, cause it was never really 100% yours, this is where blockchain, decentralization and community strengthering comes in.

The Power of Community

As a developer, there’s nothing better than an active community passionate about your game; with the years we have seen how the community has done wonders, from recreating the games only for passion, creating constant content in the form of mods that add hours of playibility, and even funding the projects, community is something that can’t be ignored, but what has often happend, that’s why if you don’t just give them the power to actively participate in the game development but also the ability to decide wich community-generated content officially enters the game, you will be giving them the feeling that they are really part of your game and are being listened to.

We often see games that if it weren’t for their community, they would long ago be dead, minecraft is a clear example of this, its community plays and develops mods, servers and more than a thousand things that the base game does not have and can greatly improve the expirience, geometry dash is another example of this.

There are thousands of mods, from mods with new enemies to worlds and structures.

Recently we have seen games like BF 2042 which give you the tools so that anyone can create content for the game, this makes the game now not only dependent on the developer, but also on the community that is constantly creating content for it. Geometry Dash is the clearest example of this,
the only reason the game continues with a large number of players today is because its community creates hundreds of levels daily, much more elaborate and passionate than the developer did.

So, if we reward players who constantly create content for our game, this is one more incentive for them to create and the main studio will not have to be 24/7 monitoring and reviewing the game, but I will explain that in another article, cause this is a decentralized game.

This is my first article in english, please highlight my mistakes.
