The indie dev community is the backbone of the gaming industry. These small studios and solo developers are responsible for some of the most creative and innovative games that exist, and they often do it with limited resources. Gameflip recognizes this, and that’s why we organized our first Game Jam.

The event aimed to provide incentives to indie devs and give them the opportunity to showcase their work. The first Gameflip Game Jam was a success, with participants from all over the world submitting their games.

As one could imagine, some issues were faced, as is to be expected with any first-time initiative. Some games had to be removed due to technical issues or inappropriate content, but the overall response was incredible.

The Jam lasted for two weeks, during which time developers worked hard to create games that fit the theme of the event: “Hypercasual.” The theme was open to interpretation, which allowed for a wide range of games, from puzzle games to platformers, and even a horror game.

The games were evaluated based on several criteria, such as creativity, gameplay, and presentation. The judges had a difficult task, as all the games were of high quality and showed a lot of effort and creativity.

In the end, three games were chosen as winners: Parry boy-Alfa, Typo Type, and Comet Outlaw. These games stood out for their creativity, fun gameplay, and well-executed presentation. Each of the winners received a cash prize of $100, and all games were considered for a revenue-sharing publishing deal.

The event was a learning experience for both the participants and the organizers. Gameflip took note of the feedback and suggestions from the developers, and they are already planning to improve on the next edition, which is expected to happen later this year.

The Gameflip Game Jam was a great opportunity for indie devs to showcase their work, get feedback, and receive recognition for their efforts. It was also a testament to the creativity and talent that exists in the indie dev community.

In conclusion, the Gameflip Game Jam was a success and a great initiative to support the indie dev community. We look forward to the next edition of the Game Jam and hope to see even more creative and innovative games from talented indie devs around the world.
