The Game’Her Challenge is a gender-diversity league based on the League of Legends game. The goal of this project is to oppose women’s teams, men’s teams, and mixed teams to break down the barriers and clichés established in the video game landscape.

The whole project, professionally organized, is supervised by solid management and effective moderation to ensure respect between all and everyone to provide a healthy and adequate environment for everyone’s development and personal performance.

History

The Game’Her Challenge is not new, indeed, it is a re-edition of the Game’Her League that we had organized 2 years before. We didn’t only change the name since the logo also changes as well as the format of the tournament!

The only thing that doesn’t change is the spirit of the tournament! A tournament based entirely on gender-diversity to show that mixed esport is possible, especially in 2020 / 2021.

The tournament

Registrations for the Game’Her Challenge will be open from Monday, November 2, 2020. All mixed teams, male and female, without distinction, will be able to register until January 31, 2021. Be careful however, there are only 32 places available, so register quickly! Also, stay tuned and attentive to the announcements made on Twitter!

The tournament will start on February 8, 2021, and will be organized as follows:

  • All teams will be randomly dispatched in pools (groups). Thus, we will have 8 pools containing 4 teams each.
  • There will be qualification phases in a double round-robin, meaning that each of the 4 teams of a pool will meet twice each of its opponents during a Best Of 1 match. If there is a tie at the end, a tie-break will take place. The tie-break consists of replaying a game to break the tie between 2 teams.

At the end of these qualification phases, there will be only 8 teams left. These 8 teams will compete in a final phase, from Best Of 1 to Best Of 5 depending on the progress of the tournament, which will create a loser bracket and a winner bracket. These brackets will work on the principle of double elimination, i.e. for a team to be eliminated, it must lose two games. Thus, if a team loses its first game, it is possible for it to win the whole loser bracket, or even win the Game’Her Challenge at the very end.

Moderation

This gender-diversity tournament is based on the respect of everyone, therefore any comment, provocation, defamation, and public or private insult of a sexist, homophobic, transphobic, racist and discriminatory nature taking place within the framework of the tournament will be seriously sanctioned.

We wish to create a healthy space for all players, this must be achieved through moderation of the comments that may be made. This environment will allow everyone to have an atmosphere conducive to personal development and performance.

If you wish to get involved in the Game’Her Challenge without taking part in it, it is entirely possible! We are looking for moderators as well as arbitrators who are willing to enforce the rules in the Game’Her Challenge discord vocal rooms of the participating teams, in-game but also on the different streams.

To do so, just contact us on Twitter, or email us at recrutement@gameher.fr or event@gameher.fr. You will be contacted by our events department shortly afterward.

How do we participate?

We voluntarily disclose information as we go along on our Twitter account. I can only announce that registrations will start on Monday, November 2, 2020, and will close on January 31, 2021. As for the tournament, it will start on Monday, February 8, 2021.

For those who can’t follow us on Twitter, we invite you to join us on our Discord server to keep you informed!

Just know that all players wishing to participate in the Game’Her Challenge must be at least Platinum 4 at the time of registration.

So you understood it if you are a mixed team, female or male and you are minimum Platinum 4, you can register to Game’Her Challenge. You can also get involved by joining us as a moderator or arbitrator during this tournament!
