Spider-Man Webs Again! (OO) — — — -⊗

Spider-Man swings again in what is by far the best Spider-Man game ever made! In sales alone, it has exceeded the highest selling game on the PS4 God of War (check out the God of War review as well) and is now swinging into gamer’s hands so fast we can’t keep up with the hype nor the amount of content that this spider friendly game has to offer. As a user, you can now edit screenshots taken with your ps4 ‘screen capture’ button located where the ‘select’ button use to be. While swinging around NY, NY, pause the game and align up any shot you like from the ‘photo’ mode. What is so unique here is there are a lot of options for adding to your capture, like stickers, tones, angles, frames etc. just like a photographer would have and you can even take spider selfies! Some of your dreams have been met. My personal favorite is the framing, I’ve created options using the infamous daily bugle paper, and also a spiderman retro comic frame which looks so good I’ve used it on my own social media pages.

The game itself is littered with hidden gems, side missions that aren’t repetitive, and crimes that appear as you are swinging throughout NY, NY. Granted Insomniac added its own taste and interesting sights to the city, but it overall has the composition of NY, and you will be blown away by the realism of the inhabitants, the atmosphere as the weather changes and added areas like the “RAFT” from the Spider-Man universe. You can’t go wrong with this game, you really will be enveloped for hours trying to complete all the content even after you completed the main game because it the narrative and the welcoming storyline never cease to amaze me. I was constantly driven to find out what new items, story quests (especially Black Cats) and thugs I could beat up to unlock more content to compliment this game. All of the extra ideas seem to work wonderfully, the costumes you unlock for Spider-Man (25 I believe and more to come in the DLC) are amazing to see, with power-ups that are specific to the suits. So even if you aren’t much of a completionist there is a lot of incentive to earn the rewards for a better gameplay experience with interesting content, such as notes as well about Spider-Man’s past life etc.

On the other hand, I wish it incorporated a type of multiplayer or some sort of online co-op, maybe play as one of Spider-man’s friends etc. to get more of your friends interested or even to add replay value as well. As soon as you complete the game, there isn’t much to keep you from sitting at your desk and returning back to work (ie your life) but once the DLC arrives late October (and others later) you will return with Black Cat’s storyline which I’m excited to play. If you are aren’t a fan of Spider-Man or open world games, you will still find this game’s narrative, cinematics, storytelling and other small factors unbelievably entertaining. I highly recommend renting this game at Redbox, multiple times (like I did), or buy it outright, you won’t be disappointed (no guarantee but you won’t) :0.
