A ton of our new materials are being made by using workflows melding different programs and different people.

Keegan has put together a really awesome tutorial showing his part of that pipeline, setting up the simulation in Marvelous Designer and then bringing it into Substance before its ready to be passed off to Matt to create a bunch of different materials using them in interesting ways.

The tutorial takes you through the process of setting up your Marvelous Designer scene and the specific settings to get the results you see above.

Then it goes into the process of taking what you created in Marvelous Designer into Substance Designer and creating a tiling height that can be used in any number of substances.

Our entire sci-fabric series was built with help from this workflow.

The insulated pipe kit is incredibly useful.

Take Away Points

  • Clarified workflow
  • A window into a dense program
  • A great showcase for an integrated pipeline.
