Get your 2D Platformer started on the right track with the Sunny Land asset pack in Unity
Another 2D kit today, this one does not come with a large and in depth scene but its brevity does not really detract from its usefulness.
The asset pack has every piece you need to assemble your own infinitely scrolling level. Some parts of the kit, like the unit sprites, may not be as easily used in a unique scenario, but the environment pieces likely would not suffer from that problem.
The kit lays out nicely. It is relatively lacking in background pieces but you can easily assemble more of that from other kits, or repurpose the foreground pieces.
The Demo scene lays out all of the sprites in their individual frames so you can see all of animations and how they progress.
The sky background is nice. There are some additional options on it but as a basic sky it does its job well.
I would definitely suggest this pack since it can fit well with some of the other packs that we have looked at and it can definitely work as a stand alone seed for a game on its own.
This pack would be perfect for a student working on a school project.
Some Pros to force your hand
- Animation Sheets included.
- Environment assets are solid art and would be easy to iterate into full scenes or levels.
Some cons to take away.
- No in depth demo scene like the others.
- The individual enemy sprites may be too specific to be useful
