Harley Wilson’s Super Clever Texturing Workflow

Harley Wilson, badass video game artist, posted a great workflow tip that will let you save memory, draw calls and texture samples in order to produce assets that share a single base material, but blend in unique details using a single mask per asset that he generated in Substance Painter.

In his full post, Harley explains the thought process, and the steps he took to produce a wonderfully light-weight shader with nearly infinite possibilities for texturing assets.
