GameTextures has been proud to take part in every game jam that Unreal has had for the last year. Coming out of these events are a wide array creative ideas and even crazier executions.

GameJams in general are a phenomenal way to test your skills both solo and as a team, with harsh time limits and assets types allowed for inclusion, participants are forced to find the most creative solutions they can to get a working prototype out before the end of it.

Since we were one of the sponsors on the Jam, we wanted to take a look at the winners and also promote some of their work!

The Doctor was one of my very own personal favorites from the jam.

After being hired by some shady underground businessmen, it is your job to destroy the lab of a local doctor. You are given a time portal device to aid in your work.

This games concept is great, it is one of the best examples of a one man team creating what could very easily be spun into a really good full game.

A more active point and click then I am used to, the WASD movement makes it more fun than I thought it would. Most of the point’n clickies I have enjoyed in the past were just solely that type of movement. The jumping is extreme for this spindly dad looking character, but that’s ok in the end.

One of the cooler aspects of the game is the time portal, showcasing this town you are wandering in through over the course of it.

The games twist is perfect for the theme and is right in the vein of movies like 12 Monkeys. I loved it! It was a phenomenal little game.

Trey Ramm is a 20 year old from Kansas and has been making games for the last six years. He really enjoys creating experiences that can be shared with others,. He works in Blender, Unity and Unreal to develop these experiences.

Check out his artstation to get a peek at his journey so far and to keep track of where he goes in the future!
