Jon Arellano is a prolific artist and competitor in the Artstation Challenges. He took First place in the Wild West Game Environment/Level Art section, 3rd place in the same section for the Beneath the Waves and took Honorable Mention in the Ancient Civilizations challenge.

He has been working in the industry for a relatively short time but in that time has an impressive amount of work both personal and professional. Jon’s program pedigree includes Maya, 3ds Max, Zbrush, Substance Designer/painter and more. He exemplifies the standards of today that emphasize mixing a lot of different tool-sets to create awesome art.

Jon has worked at Sony Online Entertainment in the past and is currently working at Intrepid Studios working on a game called Ashes of Creation. You can see their dev logs here, I enjoyed digging into them and seeing what their current hurdles and hiccups are. Jon has done an incredible amount of environment art and prop work for the game and all of it looks fantastic.
