Kennard Chins Concept Art Melds History and Science Fiction into Beautiful Fantasy
Concept and Design find a perfect marriage in the hands of this spectacular artist
Kennard Chin is another artist who has made the jump from a single art discipline to embracing the mixed media of the digital age. With this I mean that he actively uses 3D programs with his Digital Drawing programs to create his art.
With both his illustrations and his more overt models you can see the skills that have been polished to help inform either, his sense of form and light are impeccable. In a lot of his artstation posts you find that he shows off what seems to be his whole workflow, showing illustration and concept as well as the models used even if they are not the end result its all there.
I was personally drawn to his consort works, they remind me of a type of Warforged that I wanted to make in D&D in the past and also reminded me that I should get on that. They are a super unique take on a concept that melds science fiction and historical fantasy and I fully suggest you all dive in and check them out!
