Leroy van Vliet has an outstanding example of a painterly style taken to its best possible medium, a game that captures and expands on that aesthetic in some of the most beautiful ways in the industry. His work on Ori and the Will of the Wisps was incredible but that does not mean anyone should be sleeping on his personal work. He captures some of the same painterly, soft suggestion that makes his Ori work amazing but explores different themes and moods, a more personalized take on the same quality of work.

Ori and the Will of the Wisps — NPC characters

He comes highly recommended from the team that he worked with, if the glowing paragraphs you can find on his LinkedIn are any indication he is a great artist to work with on projects. His work over at Moon Studios is incredible, he worked on many of the NPC concepts that we see in the game as well as some of the lookdev involving weapons and various actions in the game.

He has worked as a freelancer for most of his career and seems to be mostly self taught, a pretty awesome feat to work your way up in that way. Leroy is an artist definitely worth keeping an eye on, use the links below to add him to who you follow for art and if you have a project you are looking to loop him in on.
