Spires and Squires. They’re probably knights, but I like the alliteration (PARADE).

Sometimes I look at people’s art and just want to go there. Whether it’s a picture inspired by a real place or something summoned from their imagination, some artists have great talent for making environments that make the viewer want to explore them.

This is so peaceful and inviting…(Sanctuary).

Najeeb Najjar is an environmental artist and painter who makes some really beautiful art. It’s no wonder that his portfolio boasts works across a broad spectrum of themes and is chock full of art, as Najjar is a self-professed “art addict and workaholic,” who makes a point to practice regularly. Najjar has done work for a variety of organizations and productions, and is currently working as an environmental concept artist for Terraform Studios.

…and now for something completely different (The lost sailor).

I enjoyed browsing Najjar’s portfolio, because there’s a lot to delve into; from sweeping cityscapes to a haunting swamp, complete with a ramshackle hut blending in with the color of the trees, just conspicuous enough to be suspicious. I really enjoyed looking through the videos and progress shots for this royal mansion, which is absolutely massive. There’s a lot of creative architecture on display here, and the progress shots really make it clear just how much depth went into making the finish product look so grand.

I’m sure the stairs are great for exercise, even if I have no idea where they go (ROYAL MANSION).

I think I need to go on vacation. I’ve been to a few places here and there, but always for work, and without any time to just sit and appreciate my surroundings. It would be really beneficial for me to grab some paper and go draw nature and architecture that is different from what I look at all the time.

Maybe I just want to live in a castle, I don’t know (palace).
