Qi Jingyan Creates Beautiful Illustrated Homages to Their Fan Favorites
An illustrator who brings to light an entirely different vision of your favorite characters
Sometimes you run across an artist who has such a clear emotional connection to their art and the subject of that art that its almost blinding. Qi Jingyan has a clear appreciation for the media they is creating fan content for.
Qi is a very multidimensional artist, having a clear eye for beautiful and dynamic character art while also being able to hit the right notes on Concept and Environmental scenes. They have a unique style, a digital painterly look that translates some of his favorite Subjects; League of Legends Characters, into great looking illustrations.
The concept work that can be seen in their portfolio has a softly shaded look, a mix of suggestive shape and hard shadows that create a pretty unique look. There are some interesting piece in there of some simpler, almost chibified character interpretations that are very enjoyable and worth looking into as well.
