More and more I love the amount of concept art that I see that incorporates both 3D and 2D seamlessly. René joins the collection of artists I admire that have taken this route and done it with little fanfare and amazing results. Not to say that artists that use one or the other are any less, just that hybrid artists provide interesting solutions to old problems.

He has an absolutely huge credit list, offering everything from beautiful book covers like the Rise of the Dragon book to concept art for productions like Destiny and Halo Infinite. From Color Scripting for Magic the Gathering to serving as principle cover artist for game art splash he has been making waves in the industry for years and years with great success.

I fell in love with René Aigner months ago and I am pretty happy to get a chance to highlight their work this week as our Artist of the Week. Love the scenes he creates, they get the old mind juices flowing, imagining cracking open blender or UE5 and recreating some of his awesome work to test my own skills. Looking forward to seeing more of what he has to offer in the future so keep an eye on his portfolio below!
