The art of Diogo Carneiro is a Whimsical and Evocative Adventure in Captured Emotion
He is currently working on a small team called Cadabra Studios on a game called Adore, a top down action RPG that captures the same FEELING as the rest of Diogo’s art. The game has been selected as a finalist in the Best Art and the Best Brazilian Game categories at the BIG festival.
A personal project of his is Pantaikan, a beautifully artistic adventure about a Capybara trying to regain his honor and protect a strange and magical item. The art is just breathtaking and definitely captures strong emotions no matter which page you look at.
Diogo Carneiro’s hand painted style is wonderful to look at. He captures the play of light and shadow and the subtle emotions of every scene I look at. He toys with depth and focus in ways that keep his pieces interesting even when looking at potentially mundane things. Probably my favorite image is the main image of the article, the young witch. The play of shadows from her hat and the unfathomable depth to her eyes just feels incredible to me.
I enjoy looking at a lot of art and definitely love that art of the artists that I write about but looking over this body of work has really been a strangely emotional experience for me.
And of course their Twitter.
