The Sketchfab Art Challenges that have started up this year have been a fine addition to the roster of organizations hosting community challenges. With a tumultuous year keeping many locked into their households, keeping the creativity high and the motivation alive has been an ongoing struggle.

Over at GameTextures.com we have been trying to do our part by reaching out and sponsoring as many of these challenges as we can. The amount of interaction within the 3D art community surrounding these are a breath of fresh air and truly are great inspiration for artists. The prizes are always a nice touch too!

The Kaiju Challenge was interesting in that it split its prize into two categories, a high poly and a low poly variation of the challenge that allowed for an awesome cross-section of 3D modeling and generated some incredible contenders. I have picked out some of my own favorites from the lineup but you can see the winners, Aidin Salsabili and Tom Breuer, below as well as links to some interviews I did with them and some more of their art!
