So you have a subscription button. Now, there are a few things you should do to make sure your fans know they can support you, and get great benefits in the process. Here are the first 3 things you should be doing to promote your subscriptions:

1. Twitch Panel

The first thing you should do when you get your subscription button is to put something permanent on your channel that shows not only that your fans can subscribe, but also what they will get.

On Twitch, that means putting together a great Twitch panel linking to your subscriptions and giving examples of the types of things that a new subscriber will get access to. Use your branding and keep it as professional as possible, but make your subscription panel stand out from the rest of your page. You want your fans to notice it and be motivated to subscribe, so make sure it yells “click me!” at them from the minute they hit your stream.

2. Social Media

When you are going to start streaming, one of the first things you do is promote on social media. Whether that is a tweet or a Facebook post, you want your fans to know that something new is happening, and one of the best ways to get the word out is to go to the fans that are already following you.

Your subscription button is something new that your fans need to know about. So you should promote it like anything else you do. This means taking the time to tweet or post about it. But not just once; your subscription button is something that you should be posting about regularly, probably once a week. Use different language, highlight the benefits that subscribers are getting, and use screenshots.

3. Chat Bot

The third way that you should be promoting your subscription button is through your chat. Often your fans are paying attention to two things: your stream and your chat. So they may miss your Twitch panels. This is why chat bots matter. You should be putting your subscription link into your rotation along with your social links and other important sites.

This will cut through the noise and show up right where a fan is paying attention, giving them the ability to click over without having to go looking for the right link. Promoting through your chat bot is one of the best ways that a streamer can promote his or her subscription button.

If you use these three methods, you will be well on your way to using your subscription button effectively. Outside of these three methods, get creative. What else can you do to promote? How can you motivate your fans with creative branding, promotions, etc?
