Greyhollow Island is a new patch expansion which is a completely new environment with its own new unique monsters. According to the blog: the island is a supernatural slice of nature with an overall creepy ambience. A conscious attempt was made to avoid as many humanoid human creatures as possible in the island to deliver man-versus-nature feeling.

Senior Game Designer Joe Shely explains this conscious decision in a succinct way:

“Greyhollow Island is about being alone in the woods at night. It’s an untamed island filled with natural and supernatural dangers.”

Blizzard has been working diligently in order to keep players engaged with Diablo 3. The frequent new updates, game balances and now the addition of an expansion-like update for free is a clear indicator that Blizzard is working on something big for its players and wants players to stay hyped about the game until then.
