Zombi

In the present generation, zombies have become the leading cause of death in movies and games. In 2012 Ubisoft launched ZombiU for the Wii U, to give a first person survival horror game. Last year in August the game was launched for all consoles, and finally on Thursday 21st January, the game has been made available in its physical copy. The porting of the game to the PC, Xbox One and PS4 has been courtesy Straight Right and Tantalus Media.

The game is played as a survivor in a zombie-infested London. But the main focus of the game is not to shoot down these zombies but by evading and distracting them. The game give you a lot of variety and when you die, instead of being reborn, you re-enter the game as a different character, and just to make it interesting, you have to battle the zombie version of your previous character.

Like any game, Zombi has evolved from its initial version and his added new features over due course. Originally, the cricket bat was the only melee weapon available (on the Wii U), the latest version includes a shovel with a long range and a nail with more damage, hurting more zombies and with a ‘critical hit’ chance. There are more features available even with respect to flashlight, giving the player an option to switch to a wider, further-reaching beam coming at the cost of battery life and zombie attraction.

The Developers have pointed out, that the reason Zombi was able to create such a fear in mind of the player was because of the dual screen on the Wii U, which has consequently been lost on the other consoles. According to Henry, the Producer, “We kept the central idea that you’re always vulnerable,” Henry says. They have tried to keep that feature in the other versions of the game, as even if you use the dedicated key to access your backpack, the game does not get paused and the player is still under the threat of being attaching be a zombie.
