PS VR: Launching in October for $399 (30,000 INR Approximately )

For all those who have been eagerly waiting for the launch of the PS VR, here is some great news for you. At the GDC 2016[Game Developers Conference] which is being held in San Francisco, Sony has announced that the PS VR will hit the shelves before the end of this year. They have also disclosed that VR would be priced at $399 / €399 /£349 and AUD$549. The contents of the box of the PS VR will include the headset, a processor unit, a VR headset connection cable, HDMI, USB cables, headphones, and a power supply. Additional to the purchase of the VR, everyone will be able to download The Playroom for free. The Playroom will include six family-friendly mini-games.

While the kit includes so many things, Sony UK confirmed that the PS Camera and the PS Move will have to be purchased additionally to the kit. The Camera is priced at $59.99 and without it the PS VR cannot be used. The VR will include a Cinematic Mode which will give support standard PS4 games plus videos, which will make them a part of the game and the video. Sony was also seen making the statement that about 50 games will be made available for VR before the end of this year. This is owing to the more than 230 developers that are working on different VR projects. Many of the industries top developers have already announced their next project for the VR.

Sony has been confident that small studios, as well as large studios, have been interested and been engaging in their upcoming VR project. There is already a confirmation of Star Wars Battlefront as a PS VR exclusive. Sony is not the only one that has lined up a VR headset for launch this year. Oculus Rift is scheduled to launch within 2 weeks on March 28th and is priced at $600. Similarly, HTC is launching its VR ‘HTC Live’ early next month for $800.
