It has been a norm in the gaming industry of showing off a game with fantastic graphics at E3 or any other event and then downgrading it to a more realistic sense. Though not exactly false advertisement, it does create some negativity among gamers but at the same time developers and publishers feel like it’s their objective to create as much hype around the product as they can as early as possible.

By now we are use to seeing downgrades in video games and we know early versions of the game having amazing graphics don’t really represent the final build. Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs was a huge disappointment in this regard and had to face the backlash from enthusiast gamers. However, Remedy has pulled it off with Quantum Break.

Other than some minor lighting, particle rendering, explosions and tint changes, the E3 2013 demo and the final game are pretty similar but still very different (in a good way). In fact, the final game looks more realistic compared to what Remedy showed us at E3 2013 onwards. Surely, some sacrifices were made, like lower shadow resolution and a lower framerate, but Quantum Break isn’t a game that is going to be criticized for a downgrade.

Quantum Break is hitting shelves on 5th of April for Xbox One and PC. You can pre-order the game here.
