What We Know From Street Fighter V Video Release

On 17th November, Capcom published a new Street Fighter V video revealing the tutorial section. The game has a side-scrolling fighting gameplay, in which two fighters use a variety of moves and special abilities to knock out the other. The 5th edition of the game is being co-developed with Dimps and is scheduled to be released in the Spring of 2016 on the PS 4 and PC platform, featuring a cross platform between them. However, it is unlikely that the game will come out on the Xbox anytime soon, as the game is in partnership with Sony.

The video posted gives a glimpse of Ryu and Ken’s backstory featuring a unique presentation style. Till now, 14 fighters have been revealed, out of which the most recognised ones are Cammy, Chun-Li, Vega, Zangief, M. Bison apart from Ryu and Ken of course. They have also announced the addition of 4 new characters, along with downloadable content for additional fighters and features post-release. The game is marking a moving a move away from the huge expansions to a constantly updated service.

Gameplay

The game has a few different fighting systems, like

  • V-Triggers will be activated with a high punch and high kick once the V-Gauge is full.
  • V-Skills, can be performed at any time with a mid-punch and mid-kick.
  • Critical Arts, super powerful moves that require a full EX Gauge.

As always all the special abilities will be character specific. It’ll perform a special action depending on the character; Ryu will enter a powered-up state to dish out additional damage, while Nash will teleport quickly behind the opponent. With the redesigned characters and the best visuals the series had ever made, ‘Street Fighter V’ appears to be the game the fans have been waiting for.
