How To Complete The Maze Of Forest — Crystalis Walkthrough

Cordel Plains

As soon as you exit the Sealed Cave and arrive on Cordel Plains walk south until you reach two trees that are beside one another. Walk west through the walled path leading to Brynmaer.

Brynmaer

Walk to the Armor Shop beside the Tool Shop and buy the Carapace Shield (if able). Walk west to the and enter the Tavern which you’ll recognize from the Glass Bottle above the door.

Talk to the man in the blue outfit then talk to the man in the northwest corner and exit the Tavern.

Return to the entrance of Brynmaer and talk to the man in purple named Akahana.

Walk east to return to Cordel Plains.

Do not step on the dark marshes around Cordel Plains or you will take damage. Equip the Rabbit Boots and hop through them to avoid taking damage.

Walk east and continue until you reach the river. From there walk north and follow the river until you reach a bridge. Cross the bridge and then walk west until you reach a large patch of grass. Walk around the patch of grass until you find the Statue of Onyx. From here, return to Brynmaer.

Equip the Statue of Onyx and return it to Akahana. He will reward you with the Gas Mask. Return to Cordel Plains.

Walk east and follow the river north back to the bridge and cross it. Walk east and continue until you reach the dark marsh. Hop past the dark marsh and continue walking east until you enter the Maze of Forest.

Maze of Forest

Equip the Gask Mask to prevent taking damage while in the Maze of Forests. If you are not level four you will not be able to damage any enemies within the Maze of Forests.

Walk east and continue past the first and second branching path. At the third branching path walk north and continue following the path until you enter Oak.

Oak

Talk to the dwarves you see they will all say ‘go in peace’. From here return to Cordel Plains.

Walk back to the bridge. Cross it and continue walking north until you reach Tornel’s House.

Talk to Tornel and you will have to challenge Stom. Rapidly press A to try to push Stom back towards the far wall. After winning Tornel will teach you the spell Telepathy. Leave Tornel’s House and return to Oak.

You can’t win the first two attempts. So lose the first attempt, exit the house, lose the second attempt, exit the house and then rapidly press A for the third attempt.

Enter the house just west of the small pond near the entrance of Oak and speak to the worried mother inside. Return to the Maze of Forest.

Maze of Forest

Walk south and continue past the first and second branching path. At the third branching path walk east until you reach another branching path. Walk south and continue until you find the missing child. Return to the branching path. Walk west until you return to the branching path. Walk north and continue past the next two branching paths until you return to Oak.

Return to the house just west of the pond and return the child to his mother to be rewarded with the Insect Flute. Exit the house. Walk to the house north of the pond to enter the Elder’s House. Talk to the Elder and he will give you the Sword of Fire. Return to Maze of Forest.

You are now able to damage the enemies within the Maze of Forest. You must be at least level four or you will not be able to damage the boss.

Walk south until you reach the second branching path. Walk east until you reach the next branching path. Continue walking east and follow the path until you reach the next branching path. Continue north until you reach the Giant Insect.

Boss: Giant Insect

The Giant Insect has one attack. It will shoot thirteen poison projectiles at you from it’s mouth. There is also an insect that flies around the screen shooting projectiles as it goes.

To defeat the Giant Insect charge your Sword of Fire to force one and stay aligned with one of it’s six eyes. As soon as you see the poison projectiles being fired start attacking. As long as you stay aligned with at least one of its eyes you will avoid being hit. It will take ten hits to destroy the Giant Insect.

The Giant Insect will drop a chest containing the Ball of Fire.

Leave the Maze of Forest and return to the Cave of Zebu in Wind Valley.

Use the Warp Boots you found in the Sealed Cave to teleport to Leaf to return to Zebu quickly.

Cave of Zebu

Walk north and continue along the path until you reach Zebu. Equip the Sword of Fire and Ball of Fire. Walk north until you reach an ice wall. Charge to force two to melt the ice wall. Walk north and continue along the path until you go down the stairs to enter Mt. Sabre West.
