Why GAN Ventures Exists

GAN Ventures is the investment arm of GAN.

We launched GAN Ventures in January 2017 to invest in startups regardless of where they are. We know that you can build a startup that becomes a powerful businesses and creates meaningful impact anywhere. We’re already seeing it in places like Lincoln, Nebraska; Los Angeles, California; Des Moines, Iowa; Cairo, Egypt; Wellington, New Zealand; Buenos Aires, Argentina.

We believe that economic and social prosperity occur in cities large and small around the world because founders are able to make a lasting, positive impact in their communities through creating jobs, revenue, and companies that become local institutions. There is a great report out of the Kauffman Foundation that shows the only net new jobs that have been created over the past 10 years have come from tech companies that are between one and five years old. We love the idea of people building these businesses in places where they themselves live and where they can build lasting communities and lasting legacies.

Because of these things we provide catalytic capital for the everywhere-else founder. Specifically, GAN Ventures is the management company for GAN Ventures Fund I, our first fund that is focused on making $100k seed-stage investments (typically into companies that are in, or recently out of an accelerator program). We often are the first professional investor to partner with our portfolio companies and have seen our commitment motivate other investors and catalyze a funding round.

We know that the startup journey is a tough and lonely one. We are excited to celebrate wins and confront adversity with the funders and founders everywhere who we are honored to serve.
