As of yesterday (March 20th, 2017), Pokémon GO has entered into a partnership with SK Telecom, the number one mobile operator in Korea, following Seven Eleven and Lotteria, making it easier for local users to enjoy the game.

SK Telecom is one of the largest mobile network providers in Korea

With this partnership, SK Telecom subscribers will be not be charged for data communication fees by offering free data rates when playing Pokémon GO. (However, data required for downloading and updating games is excluded.)

In addition, SK Telecom’s 4,000 ‘T World’ stores throughout the country are designated as PokeStops and gymnasiums, which will help increase the accessibility of PokeStops throughout the country. Various co-marketing campaigns are planned in the future, and will collaborate with AR and future technology inside the store once they are completed.

This is the latest in a series of marketing partnerships, with the previous agreements being made between the Lotteria franchise groups, include Angel-in-Us and other stores, as well as every Seven Eleven store also becoming either a PokeStop or Gym.

T World stores are now Pokestops as well.
