Am I crazy to show you this?

What kind of gardener would show you such epic fails? Is it embarrassing to showcase the losses I had last year?

Maybe.

But as I plan for what to plant this spring, I want to learn what went wrong during my last season. So if you have ideas, please respond!

The backstory

I love to decorate in the fall, filling flower boxes and planters with the rich colors of mums and the pop of orange pumpkins. White, green, puckered, and pimpled, pumpkins with pizzazz turn me on. I’m a sucker for gourds that come in different shapes and colors. (The ones that look like ducks dazzle me, and I love sticking them in flower boxes where they rear their funny heads in surprise.)
