I wasn’t looking, but they found me
I love to read! I’ve always loved to read. It is part of who I am. Reading has been my happy place, my education, my companion for as long as I can remember. I belong to a wonderful literary book club which explores mostly fiction with the occasional nonfiction voted in.
I, like many others, belong to Facebook and I joined a group called Women Leaders Read. I noticed a post about a nonfiction book club called The One Mind Book Club. The books for 2022 were Sapiens by Yuval Noah Harari, Sand Talk by Tyson Yunkaporta, Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer, and Flying Lead Change by Kelly Wendorff.
When I read the synopsis of each book, I was immediately pulled in. These books looked like the mind-expanding books that I wanted to read. I loved the idea of reading one book over the period of three months and meeting monthly to discuss the book. A deep dive into the book included using a carefully constructed reading guide written by Lisa Bolin.
