The new year is the time to reflect upon questions like — What am I doing? Why am I doing it?

In the Garden, we ask ourselves these questions and more, often. What brought us here sometimes changes, and it is these changes that make us need to also ask ourselves — what am I doing here?

Are we being present now that we’ve arrived in this moment? Garden Sister Lisa Bolin shared, in her story in Northern Notes, Pass Me A Tissue, Please, how when her plans changed over the holidays, and she found herself hunkered down and pondering life, she discovered a new perspective in which to see herself, and her future, with intention and acceptance.

What brings you to this place in time where you are right now? What is it like? What are the tiny details that make this moment — this moment? How does this moment feel?

When we allow ourselves the time to feel each moment, each moment becomes stronger.

Note: Lisa — I love the way you bask in the sunshine when you have it, and how you take it with you into the darkness so you are always warm ~ 🌱

In 2022, the Garden planted many seeds, some to give, and some to receive. Those sprouts are making their way to the sun. While some are coming to fruition, others are beginning to blossom and we believe 2023 will be a bountiful year — which means we will be able to give so much more this year, and the next.

In late spring the Garden will begin publishing the Garden Variety Magazine. The “GVQ” will host longer articles, essays, poetry, and art from our Garden Sisters, as well as reviews, columns, and more calls for submissions, in a printed, magazine style. Please use this form to contribute to the Garden Variety Newsletter or Journal.

The Garden’s 2023 Project, Gift a Girl A Journal started with a soft launch in December. This brought women together who understand the importance of women’s stories, and our ability to write them. On January 25th, we’ll hold a gathering to share and grow this idea into a flourishing Garden space.

Technology Changes! You may have noticed the landscape within the digital space that holds the Garden changed recently. We hope this has made the Garden easier to navigate now and in the future, as our Course & Circle offerings continue to grow.

Human Systems Dynamics Learning. No problem is too big to solve. Let’s learn how, together. This Year Long journey includes A BUNDLE of courses in the Garden that support other women and the Garden too! You’ll have access to the Creative Life Journaling course, AND the Time & Energy Awareness course, both beginning and advanced, AND the Treading Through the Muddle Course, AND Indigenous Studies, AND year-long access to the Coaching Intensive. If you were to purchase all of these courses individually, you would pay over $6000. Instead — through this Learning Cohort, you will pay only $750 and have access to all of these life-enhancing courses and personal coaching for an entire year. 2023 is the year to do this. We cannot guarantee this introductory pricing after 2023.

Book Clubs are a cornerstone of our community. Reading and sharing our thoughts on books provides us with stepping stones into deeper conversations and connections. If you are interested in participating, we have several, ranging from genre-specific like poetry or written by women, to those with the desire to read 200 books a year from a curated list. Visit the Garden to learn more and join us!

Jennifer Gehl shares Earth’s Galactic Winter: Reversing love of power to Power of Love in this short video. As we transition from old to new in many ways, including the new year, the energy around us is also shifting. Jennifer provides gentle guidance through it all. Her YouTube Channel has grown into a series of videos providing insight into things we know we are experiencing, but just can’t quite put our finger on it.

In No Visible Injuries, author Sylvia Clare MSc. Psychol shares her story of growing up with a psychopathic narcissist as a mother and how she learned the meaning of real love and led a life that led to many other wonderful experiences, despite her tragic childhood.

Growing a Garden Takes Many Hands

When I opened the gate in 2020 and invited the world into this space I had big, big dreams of community, collaboration, education, and support.

In the two years since, this community has grown in many ways. Over 800 women from around the world join us here on a daily basis, connecting, sharing, learning, and discovering the positive creative energy we are growing here.

These things have and continue to happen and it fills my heart with such happiness, I can only say, ‘my cup runneth over’ and I thank all of you for the joy this brings into my life.

As many of you know, this community is the culmination of a lifetime. A life filled with women who, in sharing their wisdom with me, created the path I find myself on, and am sharing with you.

And now it is time to share in the gathering of resources to grow the Garden in 2023 and beyond. Consider a one-time or monthly donation, contributing to the financial security of the Garden over the course of the year.

What do your donations support? Besides paying for the software and tech that grows the Garden online, donations also make it possible for us to pay the women who step into leadership roles because they see the vision, and the power, of women when we are connected, supported and empowered. Funds are also used for scholarships, making sure no woman is denied access to what the Garden offers.

Thank you all,
Susan Brearley
