Sounds of Silence

Even silence is noisy sometimes!

I hear eight different sounds at two,
I listen, the train whistling choo,
I listen, the flight taking off through the cloud;
I hear, the stray dogs barking loud;
The calendar brushing against the wall, I listen;
I hear the plink caused by the faulty fountain.
The watchman yawns, I hear that too,
The night owl hoots, it’s three I knew,
Then there prevails a pin drop silence,
My heartbeat makes me know its presence.
I start to doze off ignoring them all,
Putting my earphones on, I crawl;
Oh, I’d love to take a break from the harshness of life;
"Time to sleep", I say to myself, concluding the daily strife!
