It’s Been a Great Birdwatching Season Thus Far-Project FeederWatch Continues

Welcome back. As January draws to a close, I continue to participate in Project FeederWatch, a great citizen science project that provides valuable data regarding bird locations and numbers. For those of you who want to learn more about this project that runs from November through April each year in the US and Canada, I wrote the following article back in November:

As I indicated in the title, January has been cold except for the first few days. Did I mention cold? Most of the month featured below-average temperatures. Although the temperatures and wind chills were brutal at times, January was a great month for two of my favorite hobbies: cross-country skiing and birdwatching. As of this writing, I have been out skiing 10 times. I recently provided an update on some of my recent ski outings:
