Story Pins are the latest feature out on Pinterest. They’re somewhat similar to Instagram but they are permanent on your profile (they don’t die out after 24 hours like Instagram stories).

One thing is common with every new feature that is released on a social media platform: If you hop on to it early, your growth curve rises up!

Story Pins haven’t been launched for everyone yet

Story Pins are currently a work in progress and not available to all the users.

If you’re in the US, UK, Canada, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Australia, France, India, Indonesia, Japan, Italy, or Spain, you can request access to Story Pins in your Account settings and then select Request Access to Story Pins.

If you’re not in these countries, you can request access by filling out this form.

You’ll hear from them in 1 to 2 days. Things like country location, type of account, and content shared are taken into account while granting access to story pins.

How to create story pins on Pinterest

Click on click on the top of your profile and you’ll see the create story pin option.

You can add up to 20 images and videos on a story pin. Each image/video will be a separate page.

You can add text on the story pins, change fonts, size, color, and add highlight. The pins can be reordered too.

In the next step, you can pick a theme: recipe, crafts+DIY, blank list. If your pin doesn’t fall into these categories, you can leave it empty.

The final step is to select a board for the story pin and adding tags that can help you reach a larger audience.

Not sure what to post as story pins?

You can post things like self-portrait ideas, before and after of your edits, a collection of your travel pictures, flatlay tutorials, etc.
