Greetings, Gartic Community!

We’re excited to announce our latest update to Gartic Phone: Moderation Tool!

Our team has worked hard (a big shout out to our developers!) to make the game a safer place for everyone, and we added a new tool to help you with that. With the Moderation Tool, you can now review and block any drawings or sentences that are inappropriate or rule-breaking.

By using the moderation tab, you’ll be able to keep a close eye to make sure that any disrespectful actions won’t be displayed in the match or album!

If you want to take charge of what’s being seen by others when you’re showing off your gaming screen, just use this tool. You can pick yourself or someone else to fill this role. But be careful who you choose because they’ll be a moderator and have some power in their hands! Definitely keep the link away from your dog!

With that in mind, we made a tutorial for you on how to use it:

First, go to the Custom Settings tab and switch “Moderation” ON to enable it.

Ps: Whenever you turn it off and on, it makes a brand-new link and cancels out the old one.

Once you do that, a pop-up explains how to get the link

Click the purple button to get the link and paste it on a hidden tab.

It's on! But how does it work?

Once you start the game, instructions will appear on the screen:

While you’re enjoying the game with your friends, this is what will be displayed in the moderation tab:

No matter the number of interactions, there’ll be enough time to check! But the game goes as usual if you click to confirm before the time runs out.

Notice: the moderation time is calculated by the number of interactions on the screen. So if you have two interactions to review, you’ll have less time available than ten.

When you see something inappropriate — troll alert! Just click on it: it will get blurry and turn red.

Remember: click on CONFIRM to validate your action; otherwise, it won’t block it!

So the trolls might try, but the moderator — our virtual bodyguard — will prevent it from going forward in the game.

Every time you block something, it won’t be sent to the next player:

An example of a first interaction of the match being blocked.

It will also appear as “blocked” on the album exhibition:

Besides, back in the lobby, their name will get a red exclamation mark to remind you that they were blocked before so that you can kick them out of the game:

If you don’t kick the player out when you press play again, they’ll lose the mark, and the game will continue normally.

To make it even safer, use the individual invite tool to make sure the invitations are single-use only and send them just to your game buddies.

Hopefully, this tool helps you play in a healthier and safer environment. We take these issues seriously and encourage blocking any disturbing behavior.

Some creators in Gartic Phone’s community also developed helpful extensions with moderation tools specifically for streamers. If you’re interested, we highly recommend SillyV’s “Streamer tools for Gartic Phone” and “Gartic Phone Plus” from Rage Paint Games.

Contact us on our Discord server if you have any questions or feedback.
