Community AMA #13 / May 27
Hi everyone, shall we have a little chat?
You have probably seen the news of GAT Network partnering with the IOTA ecosystem. Our team has great reach and connections there and it is natural for us to include the upcoming EVM based networks Shimmer and Assembly into our multichain roadmap.
It allows us to reach and attract many more users to GAT Network… as well as offer new use-cases for MVs features and the GATe token.
Furthermore, we are partnering with leading projects there to have a bigger reach and impact. Today we have announced our partnership with IOTABOTs — without doubt the most popular and innovative NFT creators in the IOTA ecosystem.
In the coming days you will hear about more partnerships.
Regarding Callisto: we have agreed about the mode/timetable of AT treasury funding, once it is deployed there. Also next week you should be able to see a little video interview on Callisto with GAT Network
Finally, we had to re-adjust our roadmap a little to accommodate resources for these new opportunities and developments (as well as taking into account the current market situation & challenges). The team is funded for now, regardless of bear market sentiments. We use the time to build — product, partnerships, business & development processes.
what is the current development status of minting? Is there already a realease date?
I am pushing minting as fast as possible. I hope to have it soon. Minor technical difficulties. Most of them are already solved.
So I hope to have minting within the next 2 weeks ready to be used.
Minting is the primary development focus at the moment. Other developments will only come after this feature.
We are aware that it is a significant gap in the offerings of Minted Vodka, and we feel that the platform will be in a far stronger state to promote once that feature is present.
how difficult do you estimate the swap from AT to other chains? assume that you set this up in such a way that other chains can then be supported without any problems, such as e.g. MV2
The “new” AT will be set up with this in mind, yes. Multi-chain is a focus on everything we’re working on.
… and unfortunately the reason why some things take longer than expected
If we had minting on just one chain, it would have een long ready. If you make it cross-chain, it adds on complexity. But the wait will be definitely worth it.
Same applies to AT relaunch. Once it is deployed on Callisto, it will be very easy to deploy on additional chains
We would like to improve AT on different levels (UI and backend/sync) and, in best case, deploy it with the flexibility to make the gameplay interconnected across different chains. These details are still in discussion/planning.
Are you looking for free alpha and beta testers?
Really excited for IOTA Ecosystem Partnership!!!
Regarding Callisto launch:
-what are the reasons for the choice of this network, besides extremely low fees?
-are there any fundamental changes/twicks to the game?
-is it inter-related to the current version on BSC?
1. question: Low fees and focus on security, while at the same time being approachable for us (we can be the principal on-chain game for CLO holders on Callisto) and of course funds that Callisto has allocated for our external game treasury funding.
We have a good chance to reach a good central position on Callisto regarding gaming and also get marketing support and a certain reach. It is much harder to get all these things on other hyped EVM chains that are much larger.
At the same time it is good for Callisto. If our “casual P2E” idea works, it could attract thousands of new users to the chain. So it is a win-win.
Just to highlight this, “funds that Callisto has allocated for our external game treasury funding”. So to reiterate what I said before, the funds that will be injected into the AT game treasury on Callisto are not being cannibalised or taken in any way from the BNB game. This is not a reallocation of funds that could have been used for the BNB game, these are dedicated funds for the Callisto network.
“are there any fundamental changes/twicks to the game?”
We have a backlog of smaller and bigger features/changes (and bugs) for AT re-launch. Most changes will be on the backend (chain-sync) side as well as smart contracts. In first step we will make sure to allow certain flexibility in the future, especially related to multichain vision. However, the idea is not to burn too many resources for the first deployed version . We would rather go live as fast as possible. At the same time preparing the necessary flexibility for iterative improvements.
“is it inter-related to the current version on BSC? “
The Callisto version of AT will not have any interoperative connection with the BNB version. They are basically two separate games. The only thing that we do is, as a single event prior to the launch, airdrop a copy of each user’s TOY collection to the Callisto chain. This is only meant to make it attractive to existing AT players and TOY holders to try out the Callisto game.
This said, we do explore possibilities for chain interoperability for AT games on different chains. It is just too early to speak about concrete plans here. However, our plan is to keep these possibilities open on the technical side. So the challenge of the re-launch of AT is mostly also related to these considerations.
Sounds great!! Thanks Wit
great improvement for the project if you can do this sir
“the future is multichain” — this is our understanding and vision. If we can do it on MintedVodka, it only makes sense to develop and deploy on-chain games with the same idea in mind 👍🏼
Are the number of future supply circulating counts determined, Mr. Roman?
I am not sure I know what you mean?
If you mean the GATe supply, then it is 2MM tokens: https://gat.network/tokenomics/
our supply will increase to 2 million, I asked the distribution of that supply with the transition to Gate
Regarding interoperability, I was wondering if toys on BSC can be bridged to Callisto and vise versa, and be used in the game?
No, there is only this one-way single airdrop of your BNB TOYs to Callisto. See my comment:
“The Callisto version of AT will not have any interoperative connection with the BNB version. They are basically two separate games. The only thing that we do is, as a single event prior to the launch, airdrop a copy of each user’s TOY collection to the Callisto chain. This is only meant to make it attractive to existing AT players and TOY holders to try out the Callisto game.”
So you will have two identical TOY collections on both chains at one particular moment. Apart from this there will be no connection/interoperability between those two games (for now, at least).
these explanations are more than enough for me, all my doubts have disappeared. I invested in the GAT project from the very beginning, I am here from the very beginning @Pete4GAT ,you have made a great contribution to this project, you have given us valuable information to the investors, I’m sorry if I upset you, I support this project until the end
Sorry for our aggressive posts in these boring times, I’ve seen once again how united you are.
One of the reasons is: the current TOY NFTs on BNB Chain are not bridgeable. We would need to re-deploy AT on BNB completely (all smart contracts) to make any changes to the logic here (incl. bridging and any potential interoperability). It is not planned. However, everything depends on how “casual P2E” is accepted by the players. So anything is possible in the future.
> Bilbo bagins:
@wit Sir, thank you for your explanations, you explained everything without hurting us every time.
Sure, no hard feelings here. Guys, we keep working regardless of what happens on the market. We believe in what we do and are glad to have all you here with us onboard
If you have doubts, ideas, feedback always feel free to share. We will also do our best to keep the reguilar Community Hours where we can openly discuss.
It will be fun to see how AT is perceived and played on different chains. Just the fee cost makes it already kinda a different game play
Yes, it is indeed a big difference — dependent on the underlying infrastructure/chain. This is why interoperability makes mostly sense between chains that are similarly “cheap” in their tx costs. Extremely low transaction costs make it possible to have similar turn fees.
Yeah, now I see how complicated it may get with AT interoperability. For a moment, I pictured an AT ecosystem where you have your toys minted wherever (BSC, Callisto) and bring them along to whatever chain you’d like to play
to be honest, if casual/affordable P2E works as expected and other chains were considered in the future, this is the vision that I would have as well
This is also a reason for the airdrop, because the AT game on BNB cannot be changed, if we did not airdrop the new TOYs onto the new network, then any original holders would also miss out on any future developments with the TOYs they originally won.
This. We constantly think real hard on how to make things as fair and enjoyable as possible for everybody
Feel free to share your own ideas/approaches. Always happy to discuss
Eager to try out AT on Callisto))
WitAlright, we are all around and keep an eye on the channel. Feel free to share your thought also outside of the Community Hours 👍🏼
